Why the Vision3 500T Look Works Here
The modern cinema negative
500T is balanced for tungsten light, so in mixed light the shadows lean cool and skin stays warm — the “movie” look people try to fake with teal-and-orange. The grade does it gently, with a soft filmic highlight roll-off.
Real 500T grain and halation
Paired with the 35mm 500T grain stock — the classic cinema grain — and a halation pass, the red-orange glow round practical lights that sells a night exterior.
Best for night and narrative
Night streets, practical lights, interiors, short films. It is the same family as CineStill 800T, which is 500T with the anti-halation layer removed — see the film emulation guide.
Set how strong it is
The LUT strength slider runs the grade from a hint to the full stock, and keyframes can fade it in or change it mid-clip, frame-accurately in every export.
Video and photos
Use it on a clip or a webcam — or pick a photo, or several, with the Photo button: the same look goes on every photo and Export all saves each one at up to 2048 px.
Drawn into the frame
The grade and the grain are rendered into the picture, so Record (MP4/WebM), Render Mode and saved photos carry the look exactly as previewed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Vision3 500T look like?
Natural, slightly cool shadows, warm skin, wide latitude and soft highlights, with visible but fine 35mm grain — the look of most modern feature films.
Is Vision3 500T the same as CineStill 800T?
CineStill 800T is Vision3 500T with the anti-halation backing removed and re-rated for stills, so it has much stronger red halation. Both are in the app: this preset adds a moderate halation; the CineStill LUT on the film emulation page goes further.
Is this real Vision3 500T?
It is an emulation: the app’s own grade of Vision3 500T’s well-known colour and contrast, paired with a matching grain stock — not a scan of the film or an official profile. Vis Exo is not affiliated with Kodak; Kodak Vision3 500T is their trademark.
Does it work on photos as well as video?
Yes. Pick one photo or several with the Photo button; the look applies to all of them, and Export all saves each one at up to 2048 px — as a ZIP on a computer, or to your photos through the share sheet on a phone.
Is it free and private?
Yes — free, no watermark, no signup, and your footage and photos never leave the browser tab.
