Where the Free Browser Option Fits
A timeline you can grab
Every clip is a filmstrip block. Drag to reorder (a marker shows where it will land), drag an edge to trim, press S to split at the playhead, Delete to remove it and close the gap, and Ctrl-scroll to zoom.
Transitions between shots
Click the seam between two clips for a crossfade, a dip to black or a dip to white, from a quarter of a second to a second and a half. Crossfades overlap the picture and the sound.
Drop clips anywhere
Drag several videos onto the page at once, or onto the timeline at the exact spot you want them. MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV all work.
Titles, music and effects
Text and intros have their own lanes, audio files drop onto a Music track, and every effect and tracking mode applies to the whole edit.
Settings left, inspector right
Laid out like a desktop editor: settings on the left, the preview in the middle, trim, crop, text and keyframes on the right.
Private by design
The clips are decoded and joined in your browser from the original files, so a re-edit never loses quality and nothing leaves your machine.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is better for beginners: CapCut, DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro?
CapCut is the easiest start for short vertical videos. Resolve has the steepest learning curve but the most capable free version. Premiere sits in between and costs a subscription. If you only need cuts, titles, captions and a look, a browser editor like Vis Exo is the quickest start of all.
Which is best for YouTube?
For long-form YouTube, Resolve or Premiere. For Shorts, CapCut or a browser editor exporting 9:16.
Is DaVinci Resolve free?
Resolve has a free version and a paid Studio version that adds features. Check Blackmagic Design’s site for what is in each.
Which works on a low-end computer?
CapCut and browser editors are the lightest. Resolve in particular wants a capable graphics card.
Is there a free option with no watermark and no account?
Yes — Vis Exo runs in the browser with no watermark, no account and no upload.
